Ming Kei College was founded under the C. C. C. Ten Years’School Extension Scheme as a government-subsidized school. The site was chosen at Oak St., Tai Kok
Tsui. |

In September, the school opened in empty classrooms of Ming Yin College. There ware 4 classes – 156 Form 1 students sent from
S.S.E.E. results. 5 teachers: Miss Sau Kuen, Miss Leung Wing See, Miss Harriet Wong, Mr. Cheng Kee Ying and Miss Chan Hung Chiu were appointed to Ming Kei, but integrated with Ming Yin staff. Mr. Walls and Mr. K. K. Wong although on the Ming Yin staff, taught some Ming Kei classes. |
| 1968 |
On March
8th, Ming Kei’s foundation stone was laid by the Very
Rev. J. S. Murray (Chairman of the N. Z. Presbyterian
Church Overseas Missions Committee) By September of this
year, the school had increased to eight classes (4 form
1 & 4 form 2), still in Ming Yin College with Mr.
King, principal of Ming Yin acting as temporary
principal of Ming Kei, Mr. Bunton was the Supervisor. |

Miss
Mutch joined the staff of Ming Kei in Dec. and Mr. Walls
was appointed principal. |
| 1969 |
On 30th
January, our building was completed and students
transferred from Ming Yin. |

On 29th March, the Governor, Sir David Trench officially opened the school. |
|
In September, Miss Robinson joined the staff and the school doubled in size, with 5 form 3 classes, 5 form 2’s and 6 form 1’s. |
| 1970-71 |
were years of consolidation when the school grew in numbers. Both Miss Robinson & Miss Mutch left. |
| 1972 |
was a year of records. 9 staff members were married, our first lot of form 5 students sat their Certificate of Education Exam., and in September, we opened our first form 6 classes – one arts class and one science. |
| 1973 |
Saw a change in the buildings. Rooms A1 & A2 were built, and through the raising of $20,000 from a private film show, the canteen was constructed beneath the Hall. |

‘Resonance’ also began publication this year and Mr.
Bunton, our Supervisor, retired. Rev. Peter Wong took over as Supervisor. |
| 1974 |
The school was redecorated in the summer vacation. |

Our first applicants for University sat their Matriculation examinations. |
| 1975-6 |
Has seen changes in the library and A7 was converted into a laboratory for senior work. |
