HEAD PREFECTS REPORT

At the beginning of the term, 40 students from F. 6 and F. 4 were nominated by staff. Their photos and brief introductions were shown on the notice board. Students in F. 3 to F. 7 had the right to vote for these proposed prefects, and 25 were elected.

The main aims of the prefect team are:

  1. To bridge the gap between staff and students.

  2. To improve the sense of brotherhood in school as a whole.

  3. To help various clubs and school activities.

  4. To help fellow students in academic work by organizing study groups and discussions.

  5. To enforce the school rules so as to achieve a standard of orderliness in school, and to ensure every student has his own right and obligations.

We have established the class-prefect system in order to help fellow students solve their problems and to raise the class spirit, which in turn raises the school spirit too. We also have two representatives in the Recreation Committee to help plan various extra-curriculaar activities. We have regular meetings once a week to discuss the work and the opinions and suggestions collected. The two prefects then have a special meeting with Mr. Walls. In the past, through head prefects, many suggestions and opinions have been brought to the school’s attention and accepted.

We want to be friends of our schoolmates and ask for an understanding that our aims are to help, not to dominate. We are willing to serve to our capacity.
